Chad Langdon, Matt Woodard win season-opening Lucas
Oil Super Comp Assoc., titles at Auto Club Dragway!
January 30-31, 2010 Chad Langdon and Matt Woodard opened the 2010 Lucas Oil Super
Comp Assoc., drag racing series with victories at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana. Langdon picked
up the Saturday afternoon final round win light by defeating NHRA Pacific Division 2009 Sportsman
Driver of the Year Val Torres Jr. Langdon, driving the Clay Smith Cams dragster, beat Gabe Torres
in the semifinal.
Sunday's race attracted 48 entries, with John DeWald nailing a perfect 8.900 for top qualifying
spot. Matt Woodard picked up his first series victory with as he posted an 8.906 with a .009
reaction time to beat the "Shake City Express" dragster of Charlie Waggoner, as he broke-out with
an 8.895.
