Josh Newton, Corey LeClair win Lucas Oil-K&N
Super Comp Series titles at Auto Club Dragway
Josh Newton won the third race of the 2009 Lucas Oil-K&N Filters Super Comp
series, as he defeated Val Torres Jr., in the final round of race #3.
Corey LeClair put his gorgeous Super Comp dragster into the winner's circle when he
defeated Val Torres Jr., in the final of Race #4 at Fontana.
Aaron Kinard wins Jeg's Allstar Race!
No doubt Aaron Kinard would have loved to have been at the Fontana Super Comp
races this past weekend where he was second in points going into the event, but he
went one better and took the Super Comp title at the annual Jeg's Allstar race in
Chicago.  Aaron defeated John Whitmore of Oregon in round one, stopped Jim Perry
of York, PA in the semi, and Texas racer Travis Prudhomme in the final.
Congratulations, Aaron and the Kinard family!
Super Comp Shootout Points Leader:  Chuck Babcock had a good weekend with his
all-new Pacific High Reach-sponsored dragster, as he qualified fourth during the
Sunday event.  Race #3 winner Josh Newton is second in the Shootout, followed by
Matt Fischle, Bobby Dye, Jr., and Dan Blackwell.
